​​​​​Dr. Joseph Raffa completed his pre-medical studies at the University of Colorado, Denver, in 1989 and received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1994 from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He has been in private practice in the Denver area since 1994 and opened Founders Eyecare in 1996, specializing in primary care, contact lenses, eye emergencies, and pediatric vision-related learning problems. Dr. Raffa is a member of the Colorado-American Optometric Association. He enjoys getting to know his patients, spending time with his family in the mountains, playing the guitar, bike rides, and a good glass of wine!

​​​​​Dr. Theresa Hoang is a native of Kansas where she attended Kansas State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biology.  After completion of her undergraduate studies, she was accepted into the University of Houston College of Optometry where she received her doctorate.

While in school she served in numerous leadership positions, including serving as class representative for her peers three years in a row. Furthermore, she was inducted into the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society which recognizes upperclassmen who demonstrated outstanding professional and ethical attitude through leadership and service to their class, college, and profession.

Through the years, Dr. Hoang has received numerous awards including:
 

1. 1. The Ocular Instruments Award of Excellence for excellence in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease
2. 2. The Johnson & Johnson Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care which recognizes optometrists for their excellence in fitting soft and specialty contact lenses
3. 3. The Optometric Student Association Image Award which recognizes the student who has gone above and beyond in dedicating her time to not only representing her school but also her profession.

​​​​​Dr. Allison Thompson has provided compassionate, comprehensive eye care in Douglas County for over eleven years. She is known for her warm, welcoming presence and is often praised for treating patients like family. Her genuine care and personal approach help patients feel comfortable and valued at every visit. Dr. Thompson is highly skilled in primary care optometry, with special interests in contact lens fittings, dry eye management, and detecting vision issues that impact learning and daily performance.

Dr. Thompson views the eyes as a window into overall health and approaches eye care with a systemic perspective. She is passionate about patient education and takes the time to explain her findings, helping patients better understand their eye health in the context of their whole body. She also ensures patients understand the reason for their visual correction, empowering them to take an active role in their care.

Dr. Thompson earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming - Go Pokes! - before completing her Doctorate of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in California. Throughout her clinical education, she received numerous awards and accolades, including Western University’s prestigious Clinician of the Year award in 2013.

Originally from Steamboat Springs, Dr. Thompson now lives in Parker with her husband and two children. Outside the clinic, she cherishes her time with her family. Together, they enjoy skiing, hiking, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and anything Disney. She looks forward to caring for the vision and ocular health needs of you and your loved ones.
